I used to be a stage actress and something of a vocal stylist ( MFA, UCSD ). That's exactly as it sounds: a person who can sing in many styles. The years have flown by, and I've had job after job, just trying to keep it together. Obviously, my story is not unique. But I never gave up and found other artistic outlets: working with my hands, digitally sculpting jewelry, images and making an attempt at storytelling.
During the peak of Covid, I started making non-medical face masks and knot bags or "lucky bags". My products can be found on Amazon (www.amazon.com/relikbyregina) and I have plans to expand into clothing and other items in the near future.
I was chosen as a participant in the inaugural Amazon Black Business Connect 12-month mentorship program and will be in the Spring 2023 Cohort of Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program.
I'm also working on an encyclopedia app called RELIK A-Z: Open Your Mind: The Essentials to help strengthen knowledge, empathy and creativity (www.relikessentials.com). I have a long way to go, but I'm making progress.
